Ten Million Americans Are Engaged in Online Gambling

Online Gambling

Approximately ten million Americans are active in online gambling. This includes sports betting, virtual poker and casinos. These venues have become a big business, generating more than $30 billion in revenue every year.

According to a recent report, the fastest growing category on the Internet was online gambling. This is because of the convenience and variety that online casinos have to offer. Some sites even have huge jackpots.

Online casinos also allow players to participate in live stream casino games. These include roulette, blackjack and baccarat. Moreover, these games offer a higher degree of odds compared to conventional casinos. Online casinos also have a greater player base.

Despite the popularity of online gambling, the federal government has resisted its enforcement. This is likely due to interstate and foreign elements that can frustrate state enforcement policies.

However, the most important statistic is that almost ten million Americans are engaged in online gambling. This includes high school and college-aged students. These students reported gambling for money, for enjoyment, and for the thrill of the chance.

According to the Annenberg Public Policy Center, college-aged males increased their monthly visits to Internet gambling sites by more than a third in 2010. While this statistic does not prove that Internet gambling is the newest fad, it does show that this type of gambling is growing by leaps and bounds.

According to the same survey, high school-aged females reported that they were gambling for money. This was the most common reason, but they also reported that gambling for enjoyment and for the thrill of the chance were also important factors.
