Lottery is a competition based on chance in which numbered tickets are sold for prizes. A draw is held to select the winners. People who play the lottery often have an underlying motive of covetousness, as expressed in Ecclesiastes 5:10. They may think that money will solve all their problems, or that they will be able to buy whatever they want with it. However, God teaches that we should seek wealth through honest work: “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth” (Proverbs 10:4).<\/p>\n
