Poker is a game of chance played with cards. It is usually played with a deck of 52 playing cards, although some games use more or less cards.<\/p>\n
The player with the highest hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n
In most variants of poker, players must place a minimum number of chips into the pot during each betting interval. This minimum amount is called an ante or bet and can vary from one round to the next.<\/p>\n
The first bettor in each betting interval may bet at least the ante or bet. The second bettor in each betting interval must call the initial bet; the third bettor in each betting interval can raise. The fourth bettor in each betting interval may check or fold (drop).<\/p>\n
Players in the first position to the left of the dealer receive a small blind, and those two positions to the left of the dealer get a large blind. The players in these positions must make a forced bet without showing their cards.<\/p>\n
In addition to these mandatory bets, some poker games require players to put a certain number of chips into the pot before the cards are dealt. These bets are called antes and blinds and come in three forms: ante, blind and bring-in.<\/p>\n
In a draw poker game, each player is dealt five cards face down. They then take turns revealing their cards until they have created the best 5-card hand possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
